MEET OUR EXTRAORDINARY SPEAKERS
Our final three speakers have just been announced: Acclaimed playwright Shannon Blake will propose an interdependent alternative to the disconnected worlds of the isolated artist and the community arts and Alicia Raimundo will help open our minds to the struggle and stigma of mental illness. Then, much to our delight, young Mathew Ho takes us up up and away with his Lego Man in Space project. They will be joining Taylor Jones, the founder of the phenomenally successful DearPhotograph.com website along with the wonderfully talented musician Peter Katz. We also have Nobel Peace Prize nominee Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish, quantum physicist and swing dancer Krister Shalm (with blues/swing pianist Roberta Hunt), and UK barrister cum innovation advocate Karen Morris. Rounding out this amazing group of people will be world-traveler-by-foot Jean Béliveau, graphic novelist Scott Chantler and renowned physicist Bilge Demirköz. These 12 speakers and performers are going to amaze and inspire us as they share their insight at Waterloo Region’s third annual TEDxWaterloo.
