Nominate a speaker
Are you curious as to how and why we choose the speakers for TEDxWaterloo events?
The selection/curation of speakers is vital to the success of any TEDxWaterloo event and our goal is to build a powerful program that offers extraordinary voices who have a unique story or unusual perspective. We are inspired by TED’s guidance in speaker selection, by seeking out:
• Local voices that few have heard before br>
• People who can present their field in a new light br>
• Perspectives that the global TED community may not have access to br>
• Diverse demographics, ethnicities, backgrounds, subject matter br>
• Speakers whose work fits our theme br>
• People who can convey their ideas in a dynamic, engaging way. br>
We do not pay our speakers, although we do cover modest travel expenses. Nor are partners/sponsors allowed to be speakers.
Since our inaugural TEDxWaterloo, we have maintained a public speaker nomination form, which continually fuels our imagination in choosing speakers.
